Course Description:

SP102: Mental Prep for Swim Racing presents a Performance Routine. Performance Routines are 1 of the 5 Cardinal Skills of Mental Training. The other 4 skills include Intensity Control, Concentration, Self Talk and Imagery. A Pre-race Performance Routine combines these mental training skills with warm-up and the practical logistics of getting ready to race. This helps the swimmer create the optimal mind-set for racing, often referred to simply as the "Zone."

The course prepares the coach to understand and use a Pre-Race Performance Routine. There are no prerequisites for this course. However, it is recommended that “SP 101: The Zone & Mental Training” be completed prior to starting this course.

Course Instructor: Dr. John Heil

The course will take about one hour to complete. You must complete and submit the course assessment in order to receive credit towards certification.
