Read it before your water polo season then implement it.
This should be the base level every coach provides for their team. Although the numbering method and some strategies are dated, this should be read and used if you intend on learning from those before you and taking the sport to the best level.
I’ve coached high school water polo over a decade, refereed and played. This book took my coaching game to the next level and helped me coach multiple teams from bottom of low leagues to going to state and winning their league championships. It got me coach of the year and nominated for all state coach.
The book lays out enough for even a new coach to lay out a season, practice schedule, and how to coach up athletes to complete on a competitive level.
Read it. Layout your season. Reread it.
Read it again and double down.
Now enjoy winning.

The fundamental book of water polo!
This book is suitable to anyone who wishes to learn basic water polo tactics and skills. Although a bit expensive (I live in Greece), I think that it's worth the bother! The specific book analyses the game of every aspect: defense, offence, counterattack, six on five, the goalkeeper, the 2m defender, the 2m offender, all the kinds of shooting and faking skills.
In my opinion this book must be obsessed by every coach and player that faces water polo with the proper respect and love! Let the experienced coach-author guide you to the water polo secrets.
