Subject: Endorsement of Coach Mark Rauterkus and Support for Expanding Aquatic Programs

Dear Evaluation Committee,

I am writing this letter to wholeheartedly endorse Coach Mark Rauterkus and express my enthusiastic support for his visionary swimming programs, which we believe will be invaluable for the students of Pittsburgh Public Schools. As a fellow educator who has had the privilege of working closely with Coach Rauterkus, I have witnessed first hand his exceptional coaching skills, dedication, and transformative impact on both students and colleagues.

Coach Rauterkus possesses a unique ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering an environment where optimal behavior is not only encouraged but becomes the norm. His creative coaching techniques and leadership style have consistently proven effective in engaging students and fostering their personal growth. I have often remarked that, when under Coach Rauterkus's guidance at the pool, students exhibit exemplary behavior, a testament to his ability to instill discipline and dedication.

It is with great concern that I acknowledge the absence of swim lessons for second-grade students in recent years, primarily due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and other limitations. This hiatus has resulted in a whole generation of children missing out on crucial swimming education. Coach Rauterkus's proposed aquatic programs, particularly through his initiative, U CAN Swim, provide a timely and necessary solution to bridge this gap. His dedication to enhancing the lives of our students through structured swim lessons is commendable, and I believe his programs will not only address this critical need but also contribute significantly to the overall well-being of our students.

Coach Rauterkus's extensive experience and proven track record make him the ideal candidate to lead swimming programs within Pittsburgh Public Schools. His systematic approach to swim lessons aligns seamlessly with the district's long-term goals, promising a monumental improvement in the lives of our students. The enthusiasm generated by his innovative game play and teaching methods is certain to resonate positively with the student body, providing a transformative addition to our educational offerings.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse Coach Mark Rauterkus's proposal for expanding aquatic programs within Pittsburgh Public Schools. His vision, dedication, and proven success as a coach and program leader make him an invaluable asset to our district. I am confident that his initiatives will not only fill the void left by the absence of swim lessons but also contribute to the holistic development and well-being of our students.

Thank you for considering this endorsement, and I eagerly anticipate the positive impact that Coach Rauterkus's programs will have on our students and our school community.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jeff Igims Langley PE
